Awareness on COVID-19
COVID 19 or Coronavirus is a deadly virus having a strong power to kill people in a short span. It has killed around 500K and affected 13.2M people all over the world. There are lots of rumors going on due to the dos and don’ts which make people confused. Berhampore Minority And Community Development Service has started an awareness program on COVID 19 to make people understand the seriousness of staying home and using masks, hand sanitizers, or soaps. There is a helpline number from our end activated in the area to make people more relaxed. We want your support and help to win this battle.
Mask Distribution
Wearing proper masks or covering your faces with thick & sanitized clothes is very very important while going out from home. As it will help to stop spreading the virus from one to another. Also we need to maintain social distancing. Masks are not available in the shops now, so we took an initiative from Berhampore Minority And Community Development Service to distribute handmade masks to poor people and make them aware of its use. Our members are making hygienic masks which are comfortable in this summer and also come with three layers which are helpful to prevent the virus. From our end, we distribute these masks among the children and their parents in the nearby areas.
Food Distribution
As a harmful effect on the economy due to COVID-19, people are jobless and bound to be at home, but poor people are starving from hunger. The members of Berhampore Minority And Community Development Service are trying to reach those poor communities as much as possible to serve them some essential commodities like Rice, Dal, Oil, Soap, and Potatoes. It is the next possible thing that we can do; to help the poor. We are trying our best and hope that this situation may go away soon.
Awareness on Sanitization
It is a true initiative and support with the help of local leaders and administrations to build proper sanitation. We estimate every single family under this scheme and build hygienic toilets for them. We also motivate villagers to use toilets instead of going out. A good number of people have been motivated with this scheme and started to use the toilet; they also donate to our organization to make the village free open defecation. Besides that, using hand sanitizers or soaps become essential as it will help to kill the effect of COVID-19. We make an awareness program in the villages to spread the necessity of washing hands everytime after doing work or holding things.
